I'm Shain Ferriss. I wish I had a great story to tell you about how Greenmiles came into existence. Unfortunately for me, it's a fairly simple story. I started in the trucking industry in 1999 after riding with a friend of mine from El Paso, TX. to Los Angeles, CA. and back.
After a couple really short stints with some less than honest small carriers, I decided that I wanted to go to work for the really fast guys in Springfield, MO. (They really were fast in 1999). Unfortunately, I didn't meet their requirements, but I am a very persistent person, and there's always more than one way to skin a cat, so I found a back door via a fairly large Owner Operator fleet. I ran as a company driver for them for 6 months and transferred over to the big carrier and leased a truck for 6 more months while I saved my down payment for MY first truck. To be completely honest I was very happy there for the next 7-8 years but then things started to change. This Mega Carrier that I always felt I was a valued part of started feeling more & more like a corporate machine. Daily I'd wonder if I'd be better off just getting my own authority. So in 2013 that is exactly what I did. I've learned a lot, and have decided to put the knowledge I've gained to work building a company that Owner Operators can call home.
DRIVER PAY - Starting driver pay is up to 75cpm Base Pay + Per Diem + Service Incentive + Safety Incentive + Fuel Incentive.
