Wampsville, NY - CDL-A Company Driver
Luxury Furniture Delivery Driver
EPES Transportation / Stickley is seeking reliable, professional Luxury Furniture Delivery Drivers to transport and deliver high-end furniture and furniture parts to dealers and warehouses throughout the 48 contiguous states and Canada, depending on route assignment.
This position is ideal for a safety-conscious, customer-focused driver who takes pride in providing exceptional service and handling premium products with care. Drivers are responsible for multi-stop deliveries, safely securing furniture in the trailer, assisting with unloading, completing inspections, and ensuring every delivery arrives safely and damage-free.
Compensation & Home Time
- Pay: $0.54 per mile (CPM)
- Stop Pay: $40 per stop — average of approximately 6.2 stops per load
- Canadian Border Cross Pay: $75
- Average Weekly Miles: 2,500–3,300
- Average Weekly Earnings: $1,700–$1,900, with longer routes offering the potential for higher earnings
- Home Time: Weekly or bi-weekly, depending on route assignment
- Route Length: Drivers may be out for 1–2 weeks depending on the assigned route
- West Coast Routes: Two-week assignments typically travel to the West Coast
- Weekend Home Time: Not guaranteed
- Pay Reviews: Annual review
- Holiday Pay: Based on the average of the prior 52 weeks, converted to an hourly rate and paid for 8 hours
- Vacation Pay: Based on the average of the prior 52 weeks
Important: Routes are not guaranteed to be dedicated to a particular driver. New hires must be flexible and willing to cover either one-week or two-week assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform multi-stop deliveries of luxury furniture and parts to furniture dealers and warehouses throughout the U.S. and Canada, depending on route assignment.
- Safely move furniture to the rear of the trailer for customer unloading on tailgate deliveries. Approximately 50% of stops may require this type of unloading.
- Properly secure furniture inside the trailer using appropriate padding, straps, and other equipment to prevent damage during transportation.
- Handle high-end and delicate furniture with care throughout loading, transportation, and delivery.
- Provide professional, courteous customer service at each delivery location.
- Obtain customer signatures and photographs of delivered products for documentation.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the truck and trailer and report any safety or equipment concerns.
- Accurately identify furniture pieces and match them to the appropriate delivery orders.
- Maintain a strong focus on preventing product damage.
- Follow all safety, operational, and transportation requirements.
- Represent EPES and Stickley professionally, including adherence to company dress code standards.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license and ability to safely operate a truck and trailer.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy furniture.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity when handling delicate or high-value products.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow established delivery schedules.
- Strong commitment to safety and careful product handling.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the continental United States.
- Canadian routes require a valid passport.
- Previous furniture delivery, home delivery, or similar experience is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, carrying, and moving of heavy furniture.
- Regular handling of delicate, high-value merchandise.
- Ability to work outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions.
- Extensive travel across multiple states, with Canadian travel available/required depending on route assignment.
- Flexibility to remain on the road for one or two weeks based on assigned routes.
